Nemours Estate comprises an exquisite, 77-room Mansion, the largest formal French gardens in North America, a Chauffeur's Garage housing a collection of vintage automobiles used on the Estate, and nearly 200 acres of scenic woodlands, meadows and lawns.

Built c. 1910, the prestigious New York architectural firm Carrere and Hastings designed the mansion in the late-18th-century French style. 105 rooms on five floors occupy nearly 47,000 sq ft.. The home was thoroughly modern, incorporating the latest technology and many of Alfred Dupont's own inventions.

The French-style formal gardens of the 300-acre estate includes the Long Walk, which extends from the Mansion to the Reflecting Pool and is lined with Japanese cryptomeria, pink flowering horse chestnuts and pin oaks.

Visits to Nemours Estate are mainly self-paced and self-guided. Guided tours are available. Shuttle buses run between the Visitor Center and Nemours Mansion, and also take visitors around the property.

Open seasonally, May through mid-November.
