The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art opened in April 2018 to celebrate the rich and diverse heritage of the American West, evokinge the spirit of a wide-open frontier and the beauty of life in the wild.

The collection includes paintings, sculpture, jewelry, and artifacts by 20th and 21st century artists.

The collection holds early-20th century works by Western art pioneers whose work continues to influence more recent generations of artists. It is also robust in contemporary figurative Western paintings, created since 1980, that feature 19th century historical narratives.  There is also a strong emphasis on recent works by living Native American artists from the Southwest.

Additionally, visitors will find a gallery featuring depictions of wildlife from around the world.

A variety of programs and educational opportunities bring our history and culture to life.

Museum co-founders Tom and Mary James have created an artistic legacy — one populated by emerging artists and living legends and filled with tribal tradition and classical finesse, making their collection of Western and wildlife art, with the public.
